Currently, editorial director at Herman Miller and design-consultant-for-occasional-hire.
Adept at big-picture editorial strategy, team-building, art direction, writing, and public speaking. I’m interested in making architecture relatable, public spaces equitable, buildings useful, and rooms irresistible.
In my tenure as editor-in-chief of Curbed, I led Vox Media’s architecture, design, home, and real estate outlet—spanning multiple cities, digital platforms, and mediums. I also created Curbed's chart-topping podcast on failed utopias, Nice Try!. Prior to Vox Media, I edited at Dwell magazine and Architizer. I’ve contributed to publications like the New York Times, I.D., Fast Company, and Gawker.
In addition to editorial work, I’ve served on juries for the American Society of Magazine Editors and the James Beard Design Awards and participated in crits at Columbia GSAPP, the Cooper Union, Parsons School of Design, SVA’s D.Crit program, and the School at the Art Institute of Chicago.
